Naisip kuh lang yung post na to when I was really REALLY [caps lock & bold] bored.
Pansin nyuh, whenever having birth, I think, the most exciting part is to name them.
Meron ibang parents na would go over board searching the net for unique names. (Ex. MERVIELLE XANTHE)
Some would make him a junior. (Ex. SIR RAFAEL JR.)
Some would use their favorite flower to name her. (Ex. CHRYSANTHEMUM)
And the list goes on. But akuh, my name is not that one-of-a-kind, but my personality made it distinctive from anyone else.
I was christened by the name KATHERINE MAY.
Katherine which meant “the pure one.”
And May which came from my birth month meant “the great one.”
Alam kuh, both my names could have a thousand matches around the world, kaya saan pa ba akuh babawi kundi sa nickname? =P
I had a lot of labels. Ehem, nick-names.
The most common and known was Kathy.
Back in elementary my friends would call me Kat2x. *Meow =3*
There was even a time when I was called Belle, kasi fave Disney movie kuh yung Beauty and the Beast.
But it didn’t last long naman.
Lakas trip eh.
Pero hands down talaga yung Kathy, I know its very common, kaya naisipan kung ibahin yung spelling.
At naging Kathie. =))
But it didn’t have any difference. Ganun pa rin yung diction.
Trin-nay kuh din yung May-may (pronounced as Mai-mai) yet hindi sya patok. =((
Haay. I’m stuck. I don’t wanna be just another face in the crowd.
By who else? Eh di akuh. xD
How? Baliktarin nyuh lang yung second name kuh and there’s your answer.
And soon enough, it was the rave.
Yung Yammcy naman, made by my Japanese friend, Zimmy.
She made it cuter kaya I liked it.
I’m currently using it now.
There you go.
That was the legend on how I got my name and nicknames. =))
The next time you have nothing to do, you better track down on how your parents arrive YOUR NAME.
Or if you don’t really like your name, make it exclusive by making your own nickname.
Be creative.
Try to experiment.
