Chapter 12: Trapped

Are you okay now? Let’s go home.

I don’t have any more strength to argue with him. I haven’t eaten for days now. We proceeded to the school’s driveway. He opened the family car and carefully shoved me inside.

He cares for me? I thought. I was on my bed now, thinking of what had happened that afternoon. I then heard a crack of glass. Seems like somebody threw a stone into my window. I got off my bed and looked outside. There I saw the guy in black. What’s he doing here? Using my skills, I went down my room window. The house’ pavement felt cold under my bear feet. I opened the gate.

How did you know I live here?
How’d I don’t? I’ve waited for you. Where have you been?
Long story.
Well then, c’mon! I know a great skateboarding place. Wanna have a battle?
Wait, I’ll be right back.

I went back to my room. When I got there, I was surprised to find Harris standing on the door.

Where are you going? It’s late.
Don’t tell Dad.

I ignored him and walked across the room to get my skateboard. He did not stop me or anything. He just stood there, looking at me.

I don’t think it’s healthy for you going with that Galvin guy.

So that’s the guy’s name. How did he know that? I payed no attention to him again. I was about to climb down my room’s window when I heard him say.

Be careful.

I enjoyed skateboarding with Galvin that I lost track of time. I went back to the house at about 4 am. I slowly crept up to my room. When I opened it, I was surprised of what I saw.

Harris was sleeping on the floor. Was he waiting for my return?
