History of CLICK BERKS

April 6, 2003

This is it. It was the time.

I have never thought this day would come as fast as I have never imagined.

I don’t wanna say goodbye to my friends at all.

Seems like it was just yesterday that we were happily playing around the grounds of Sto. NiƱo SPED Center.

The picnic.

Strolling around Tacloban.

Borrowing books on Lee ann’s or net surfing.

Studying at the canteen.

Picture taking.

Hanging out at Nadz house.

Practicing for a dance presentation.

Reading magazines.

Creating stories.

Drawings.

Quarreling.

Misunderstandings.

Reconciliations.

Sharing each of our dreams.

And never endless talks.

CLICK BERKS is what we like to call it.

There was Nadine, the pretty one who never runs out of imaginative ideas. Next was Ria, the sweet mademoiselle whose infectious charm seems irresistible to the group. The Spongebob-loving-character Krissa who was gifted in arts follows the list. As well as Ezra, the intricate lass who treasured her friends the most. The consultant Anne who never fails to be a fantastic friend, sister, and a bestie who always looks for the clique. Lastly was me, Kathy, the girl-next-door who is outgoing and extroverted type.

We had lots of nicknames, Piper, Phoebe, Prue, Dina, Analie and Mia respectively. (Remember these guys?)

We had dreams and different goals in life.

We had various characteristics that make each of us a unique person but we hang out together inspite of our differences.

We love ourselves even though we vary.

Friendship was the greatest gift God has given us.

My thoughts vanished when I heard my name called. As I approach the stage to receive my certificate, I smiled to myself. I was wrong. It will not be the end of the CLICK BERKS, for wherever they will be, we will always remain as friends.

As I raised my diploma and bowed, I saw my friends’ jovial faces. It was confirmed. We will all be friends for all time.

Heaven's Special Delivery

This one was a called a “cinquain”, where you write about the other person.

Guess nyo kung sino tinutukoy ko dito.

Hehe. But, I have revealed it somewhere in the poem. =D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She gave the gift of life to me
And then in love she set me free
I thank her for her tender care
For deep warm hugs and for being there.
She filled my days with rainbow lights
Fairytales and sweet dream nights
A kiss to wipe away my tears
To ease and calm my numerous fears.
I call her my angel, with a precious heart
I cherished most, we would never be apart
She is full of kindness and love
Send by the heavens above.
My angel is so smart
She knows what’s good or bad, where to start?
Always showing me the right way
I know she’ll never lead me astray.
Happiness and melancholy to her I share
Whatever mood swings I have, she bears
She is so special and like no other
For my angel is my mother.
She has so many things to do
From washing, cleaning, to tying a shoe
She scrubs, she mends, she cooks and sews
She bathes my younger siblings and washes their clothes.
When we forget to wash our faces clean
Our clothes the muddiest you’ve ever seen
She repairs the clothes and scrubs them like new
No other can be greater; she deserves more than a thank you.
She becomes the doctor or the nurse when we were ill
Applying a bandage or giving us a pill
She becomes a teacher when we have no homework
She must never her duty shirk.
She becomes a detective to find a toy or a book
For missing things she must look and look
She becomes a listener to all heartache
To every achievement we fail to make.
She scolds us when we were naughty
And remind us of God when we were haughty
She tends over her family with love, and patience too
Of course that is what my mother can do.
She is super, sometimes leaving us confuse
For each battle she never lose
Whether it’s an office or house work
At the end of the day, she’ll finish it with a smirk.
She knows if there’s something wrong
She’ll ask me about it, and then sing me a song
Any accomplishment will make her proud
Like a sun appearing between two clouds.
I can never be more thankful that she’s my mom
In the midst of complexity she stays calm
I love her more than I can express
With a mother like her I feel so blessed.
No one could ever replaced a superhero like her
For my life would never go blur
She’s an angel who took care of me
A seraph whose name is Josie.
Nostalgia
We were asked by our teacher in History, to create a biography of ourselves.
Eh ako, sanay sa “I can do it tomorrow" theme.
Kaya eto I created this baby for just 2 days before submission. Hehe. =D
I call it "adrenalin rush". :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I walked towards an unfamiliar door

I haven’t seen this room before

I turned the knob and peered inside

I was surprised, my eyes went wide.

Within the realm of this four-building wall

Dust and dirt, it covered all

On the table an old album I see

I then wondered, “What could it be?”

I settled and sat easily on the floor

Then opened the book, some filthy pages tore

I recognized the girl on the pictures was me

My mind’s eye flashed, it then went free.

It was sunset, the clouds turning grey

My mother Josie didn’t go to work that day

Out of blue, she sensed a sudden pain

An excruciating agony she couldn’t explain.

She felt unconscious, the next thing she knew

When she opened her eyes, still has no clue

She found her husband, Nomel Sumapid was there

A baby within his arms he sat on a chair.

The little child was sleeping, on the bed she lay

They gave her the name Katherine May

They believe she would grow happy and true

Showered with love and care, she’ll never be blue.

That faithful day I was born

Now look how much today I’ve grown

I lived a blissful, happy & joyous life

Surrounded by affection never with strife.

I have an elder sister and a younger brother

Kassandra and Nathaniel was their name, no other

Both caring, truthful and kind

They’re the best in the world you can’t just find.

My family had always been there for me

They are my strength I can guarantee

Whenever I give up or fall down

An inspiring smile could turn that frown.

I grew up as a girl who’s humble and shy

On my childhood days, I would easily cry

A moody person, alone, is what I wish to be

Whether you’ll love or hate, that’s the real me.

I love the color pink, green and black

I like eating or just taking a snack

I’m also into writing, cooking and singing

Doing these things, infinite pleasure to me it would bring.

I went to learn in different school

People say it’s tedious yet for me it’s cool

My parents would occasionally say

“Education is a vital treasure, not just a mere display.”

And now at the age of sixteen years

I had experienced almost all, glee and tears

RTRMF, is the name of school I went to

Took up nursing I would definitely pursue.

As I reached the last page of the book

I didn’t realize how much time it took

Time seems to travel expeditious and fast

But now, I know, these exquisite memories would last.
